Advice & Support

Over the years we have been called out to attend a catalogue of terribly distressing things which have happened to people. And to help them recover from the aftermath of a Carbon Monoxide leak, or a chimney fire or worse. Increasingly we feel the obligation to devote more time to the education of not just our customers, but also to others who use solid fuel to heat their homes. We mostly use social media to do this. Pleasingly, we are also being asked to perform many more CCTV camera inspections of the inside of chimney flues. We do this for:

  • Homeowners who are selling houses.
  • People who are buying a new home.
  • Households with ‘chimney problems’.
  • Customers who are thinking about installing a new stove.
  • Estate agents.
  • Surveyors.
  • Insurance assessors.

It’s impossible to visually inspect about 80% of the inside of your chimney – who knows what’s going on in there! And it is so very pleasurable to identify potential issues and prevent terrible things from happening rather than clearing up after something terrible has happened.

Increasingly, customer’s are becoming more open about taking advice about stoves and chimneys. Burning wood or coal is steeped in our history and culture. But the way our parents and grandparents did it isn’t always appropriate today and people are seemingly much more open to that now – which is marvellous!
